DANVILLE, IN (September 25, 2014) - Vibrant colors and pictures, an easy-to-navigate interface, a fully integrated blog and more information about Hendricks County than ever before are just some of the highlights of Visit Hendricks County's new website.

The site launched this summer after a nearly year-long build by Simpleview, Inc., an Arizona-based company that specializes in creating databases and websites for destination marketing organizations all over the world.

Their expertise in collaboration with the vision of the Visit Hendricks County staff produced a site that is both pleasing to the eye and functional for everything a visitor would need to know to plan a trip. It highlights the county's attractions, events, hotels and other visitor information like never before with detailed listings, a robust Events Calendar that allows the user to search by topic, town, keyword or date and an active and visible blog called Hendricks County Insider in which local writers share their experiences with readers.

"Our website is one of our most important marketing tools and often serves as the first experience a visitor may have with our destination," said Sarah Ferguson, Visit Hendricks County's director of marketing. "So, it can ultimately influence whether they choose to come here for a visit and was an investment we needed to make."

The previous website had served the organization well for more than six years as evidenced by the nearly 163,000 unique visitors who came to the site in 2013. However, it also couldn't meet all the demands of today's website user. Mobile traffic, users visiting the site on either a smart phone or tablet, more than doubled from 2012 to this year. As a result, the new site was built with every potential user experience in mind. Using what is called a responsive design, the site adjusts to any device providing the best experience possible whether the site is visited by a smart phone, tablet or desktop computer.

The timing of the new site couldn't have come at a better time as Visit Hendricks County prepares for two of its busiest marketing promotions of the year during the fall and holidays.
The organization's fall campaign began this week as Visit Hendricks County promotes and markets all of the county's activities and attractions by highlighting fall weekend getaways to visitors who live within a 250-mile radius of the county. Attractions and events such as Beasley's Orchard and its Heartland Apple Festival, the Indiana Short Film Festival and a various array of other haunts, hikes and happenings will be highlighted over the next five weeks.
