DANVILLE, IN (December 6, 2016) – If you are newly engaged or soon will be and are planning a local wedding for 2017 or 2018, you can enter a contest to become Visit Hendricks County’s featured couple that includes a $500 grand prize.
For the past few years as Visit Hendricks County became more focused on the county's bridal services, an engaged couple has been featured in the Wedding and Event Guide and on the organization’s website. For the first time, Visit Hendricks County will open that honor up to the public with a contest in which the winner will document the journey to their big day and receive a $500 gift card to go toward their wedding expenses.
To enter the Visit Hendricks County Wedding Guide Contest, the wedding must take place at a Hendricks County venue that is open to the public (no private property locations will be eligible) in either 2017 or 2018, and the bride or groom must be willing to write three blog posts during their journey.
The winner will be featured on the Hendricks County Insider blog and in a future Visit Hendricks County Wedding & Event Guide.
Engaged couples who are planning a wedding can download a free Wedding & Event Guide at www.VisitHendricksCounty.com/Weddings or pick one up at the Visit Hendricks County office, 8 W. Main St., Danville. It is packed full of local vendors who can meet any need they may have.
Visit Hendricks County can also help any local couple with various complimentary services including blocking hotel rooms and providing welcome bags to their guests.
For more information about the contest or to apply, go online to www.VisitHendricksCounty.com/Wedding-Contest. Couples will be asked to fill out a form on that page that includes submitting no more than a 200-word essay on why they should be the featured couple including how they met, how they got engaged, what Hendricks County vendors or services they are using and any unique ideas they have for their wedding.
The contest ends Feb. 28, 2017. Visit Hendricks County will choose a winner on March 10, 2017.
