Craft shows are one of my favorite parts of the holiday season. They provide an opportunity to knock out a lot of my Christmas shopping in one day, plus I get to shop local and support artists and craftsmen from the community. For me, that's a win-win!

Holiday craft shows abound in November and December in Hendricks County, Indiana.

There are several great craft shows coming to Hendricks County over the next few weeks, so you'll have plenty of opportunities to purchase hand-made, one-of-a-kind items for your family and friends -- and even yourself!

Here are just some of the holiday crafts shows coming to Hendricks County, so you can plan your holiday visit and gift-buying accordingly.

Hendricks County Flyer Craft Show

  • When: 9 a.m.-3 p.m., Nov. 8, 10 a.m.-3 p.m., Nov. 9.
  • Where: Hendricks County 4-H Fairgrounds & Conference Complex, 1900 E. Main St., Danville.
  • What: More than 140 booths filled with crafts and other items.

5th Annual Holiday Bazaar and Craft Fair

  • When: 9 a.m.-4 p.m., Nov. 15. 
  • Where: First Baptist Church of Plainfield, 1012 Stafford Road, Plainfield.
  • What: A holiday bazaar and craft fair to benefit local food banks. A chili lunch will also be served from 11 a.m.-2 p.m.

Holiday Craft Fair

  • When: 9 a.m.-3 p.m., Dec. 6.
  • Where: Washington Township Park Pavilion Center, 435 Whipple Lane, Avon.
  • What: A juried selection of handmade goods. Active Grace will provide concessions. A giving tree to support Sheltering Wings and Active Grace will also be part of the fair.

Plainfield Tri-Kappa Gingerbread Christmas

  • When: 9 a.m.-3 p.m., Dec. 6.
  • Where: Plainfield High School, 1 Red Pride Drive, Plainfield.
  • What: Gingerbread Christmas is the oldest and largest fine arts and craft show in the area with more than 120 booths. $3 entry fee goes to support local charities. Check back soon for an extensive preview of this event!
