Where in Hendricks County can you have a laugh, go back to the future, and jam out to some blues rock in April? If you guessed the Royal Theater in Danville, Indiana, you are absolutely correct. Comedian Troy Davis will bring his humor to the Royal Theater on April 11. Raised in Indianapolis, Davis' honest humor involving everyday life -- marriage, parenting, restaurants, church and more -- appeals to people of all ages. He has been on XFINITY On Demand's stand-up comedy series, "Who's Laughing Now?" four times over the past three years and has also been on the Bob & Tom Show and on ESPN Radio. You can check out some of Davis' comedy by clicking here. The show starts at 7:30 p.m. and tickets are $10 a piece. Click here to purchase tickets in advance. Go back to the future with Marty McFly on April 18 at the Royal Theater. The 1985 classic movie "Back to the Future" -- starring Michael J. Fox, Christopher Lloyd and Lea Thompson -- is presented by the Danville Community School Corporation and the Kiwanis Club of Danville. Bring the whole family to this 116-minute film that's rated PG because tickets are CHEAP! Adults are just $3 and children are a mere $1 a head. Tickets are only sold at the door, so get there early for the 7 p.m. showtime. All ticket proceeds and donations from the Kiwanis Klassic Family Movie Nights will go back to the Royal Theater -- a Hendricks County mainstay that has been benefitting children for years -- in its effort to make the necessary (and very expensive) conversion to digital equipment. Jake Henson will rock the Royal Theater on April 25. Henson and his band are from Indianapolis and are influenced by Duke Tumatoe, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Jimi Hendrix, Wes Montgomery and others. They won the 2011 Heartwood Battle of the Bands in Tennessee, so they know a thing or two about the blues, classic rock and pop music that they play. They blend covers with original tunes and will take the stage at 7:30 p.m. for a two-hour set. Tickets are $10 a piece and can be purchased in advance by clicking here. Want to know a trick on how to save money at the Troy Davis comedy show and the Jake Henson Band gig? Purchase an E-Pack from the Royal Theater. E-Packs go for $25 a piece and contain a whole bunch of coupons to the Royal Theater and to CJ's Bar & Grill, including nine free admissions to live events, plus coupons for popcorn at any of the regularly scheduled movies shown at the Royal. Buy one of these E-Packs by clicking here or by asking for one at the concessions stand on your next visit, and then use one coupon for two free live comedy admissions to see Troy Davis, and another coupon for two free live music admissions to see Jake Henson! You've already saved $15 AND you still have a bunch of coupons left to use! Heck of a deal! So if you like comedy, adventure and live music, the Royal Theater is the place to be on Thursday nights in April.
