If you love to laugh, and love helping others in Hendricks County, you'll want to mark your calendar for Saturday, Sept. 13. Comedians Drew Hastings, C.J. Harlow and Chris Bowers will perform at the Washington Township Park Pavilion, 115 S. County Road 575 East in Avon during the second annual Laughing For the Health Of It! comedy show to benefit Mental Health America of Hendricks County.

I am particularly excited about Drew Hastings who is a regular on The Bob and Tom Show, and has appeared on Comedy Central and The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, where he received a standing ovation. In addition to comedy, Hastings is also a cattle farmer, and in 2012, he was elected mayor of Hillsboro, Ohio. His transition from comedy to farming at the age of 50 has taken his comedic material in a hilarious new direction.

Harlow appears daily on Sirius/XM radio's Laugh USA and Blue Collar Comedy. Bowers is s motivational speaker and comedian who has performed around the country and appeared on The Bob and Tom Show. The event also includes a dinner and silent auction. All proceeds from the evening benefit Mental Health America of Hendricks County.

Mental Health America works in our community to provide support, education, and training around mental health issues. Their services range from support groups, to referrals for treatment, to suicide prevention training, and much more. They are working to remove the stigma attached to mental illness and provide assistance to individuals and families in Hendricks County who are in need of help.

Tickets for the event are $60 for individuals, $100 for couples, and $350 for a table of eight. Tickets can be purchased online or by calling the MHAHC office at (317) 272-0027.

Don't miss this opportunity to support mental health awareness while enjoying an evening of laughter!
