Hendricks County Horseman's Club Open Show
If you're into all things equestrian, you'll want to head out to the Hendricks County 4-H Fairgrounds and Conference Complex in Danville this weekend to catch the Hendricks County Horseman's Club Open Show.
Competition begins at 6 p.m. Friday and resumes at 9 a.m. Saturday. The show is free to attend as a spectator.
There is a wide array of competitions scheduled in both English and Western divisions and in a variety of age categories, and there will be vendors there, too, offering all sorts of horse-related items and accessories.
Lucas Oil Raceway Stock Car Series
A new racing series will hit the oval track at Lucas Oil Raceway in Brownsburg on Friday night! The Lucas Oil Raceway Stock Car Series presented by Visit Hendricks County will debut with the first of its five racing events this season when the grandstands open at 6:15 p.m. and the green flag drops at 7:45 p.m.
Tickets are just $15 a piece, and kids 12 and under get in for free! Plus, the parking is free! What a deal!

Gardening for All Ages
With the arrival of spring, it's time to get outside and put that green thumb to work. Perfectly timed, then, is the Gardening for All Ages spring gardening show at the Hendricks County 4-H Fairgrounds and Conference Complex in Danville from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday.
Hosted by the Hendricks County Master Gardeners, this free family-friendly event has something for everyone: gardening exhibits, free seminars by expert gardeners, free trees and seeds, and a children's booth with activities and demonstrations.
Additionally, over 40 vendors will be on hand to offer plants, gardening and bird-watching supplies and more.
Danville Downhill Derby Soap Box Car Race
Once you've gotten your fill of stock car racing at Lucas Oil Raceway on Friday night, come on over to Ellis Park in Danville and watch some gravity-powered racing as the second annual Danville Downhill Derby Soap Box Car Race takes place at 11 a.m. on Sunday.
The event is free to attend, and if the itch to race strikes you while you're there, you can ride as a passenger in a two-seated soap box car for just $5.
There will be bounce houses, a DJ playing music, and food vendors at the event to go along with the racing.
