Well, it's official. Summer vacation is over for many of our local children.

While you may be thinking there aren't any fun activities to do with your kids now, think again. This weekend alone, we have some great family fun options for you in Hendricks County.

It all begins Friday night as the Danville Parks Department hosts a Family Campout Night beginning at 6 p.m. at Ellis Park, 600 E. Main St. This will be a night full of games, a campfire, s'mores and hot dogs. A family-friendly outdoor movie also will be shown at 10 p.m.

Families need to bring their own camping equipment, but the food and drinks will be provided. Registration for this event ends Thursday, and the cost is $10 per family. Click here for more information or to register.

If local markets are more your scene, this is the best time of year to check out our local farmers markets. One of the best locations in the county is the Danville Farmers Market from 8 a.m. to noon each Saturday on the Hendricks County Courthouse Square.

The best part about this weekend's farmers market in Danville is that it is also coincides with the final Handmade Market of the season on the opposite side of the square. Here you will find some of the most unique items in Hendricks County. These are local artisans, crafters and designers selling ther handcrafted items. The Handmade Market is open from 8 a.m.-1 p.m.

If racing is more your speed, No Hatin' Drag Racing will once again invade the Lucas Oil Raceway drag strip Friday-Sunday. This all motorcycle event is the biggest event of its kind in the Midwest.

Cyclists come from all over the country to compete on the legendary track in Brownsburg and take home the coveted title which makes it a fun event to watch. A weekend pass is $35 or a daily pass for Sunday only is just $20. Kids 10 and under get in free. For more information, click here.
