Another gorgeous summer weekend is headed our way here in Hendricks County, and as always, there are lots of great things to see and do. If you love history, nature, or getting together with friends, you won't want to miss these upcoming events.
Mad Hatter Ladies Night Out
Ladies, you can start your weekend a little bit early by coming out to Seize the Night Designs in Danville on Thursday evening. This ladies night out features tea from Our SpecialTEA, and local stores like Jane's on the Square, Confection Delights and The Watermelon Patch will be open late so you can shop and enjoy. Wear your best tea party attire, bring your favorite cup, and be sure to RSVP here if you plan on attending.
Pvt. William Bratton Talk
Pvt. William Bratton joined the U.S. Army's Corp of Discovery for Western Exploration in 1803 and served under the historic explorers Lewis and Clark. On Saturday, Scott Ballentine will portray Bratton on the lawn of the Hendricks County Historical Museum in Danville, and will share what life was like on the Lewis and Clark expedition. If you love history, I highly recommend taking advantage of this unique opportunity. You can learn more here.
Friday Night Stock Car Races
The Stock Car Series is back at Lucas Oil Raceway in Brownsburg! You won't want to miss the second race in this exciting series happening this Friday Night under the lights. Qualifying starts at 7:15 p.m., and the race program begins at 7:45 p.m. on the oval.
Astronomy - Night Sky Viewing
On Saturday, you can spend some time stargazing at McCloud Nature Park as they host another Astronomy evening. The Indiana Astronomical Society will be on hand to share more about observing and identifying the wonders of our solar system, and then outdoor stargazing will follow. Use one of the powerful telescopes provided or bring your own! This event is free and open to all ages.
