From cars to alpacas and symphony to outdoor movies, we have a bit of everything for you in this edition of the Primer. As always, you can find even more things to do anytime on the Visit Hendricks County Events Calendar. Get out there this weekend and make memories at one or more of these great activities:
Plainfield's annual Quaker Day Festival will take place this Saturday in downtown Plainfield on the grounds of the Plainfield Friends Church. The festival will include a parade at 10 a.m., a car show from noon-4 p.m., lunch at the Plainfield Friends Church, and a variety of craft vendors.
Check out Crystal Paschal's recent blog with more specifics about the festival here.
The Hendricks Symphony will perform Reformation at 7:30 p.m., Friday and 3 p.m. Sunday at Avon Middle School North, 1251 Dan Jones Road in Avon. Tickets are just $15 for adults at the box office.
For more ticket prices and information, visit the Hendricks Symphony website.
Lucas Oil Raceway in Brownsburg will host the 16th Annual NMCA World Street Finals Thursday through Sunday. The competition will feature muscle car drag racing, a car show, burnout contest, manufacturers midway and swap meet. Single day passes are $25.
For more on ticket prices or other information, check out the NMCA website.
If you haven't checked out Beasley's Orchard yet, this weekend provides the perfect time to enjoy some fun fall activities with the whole family. We took our kids to pick apples recently, and I fell in love with the orchard.
We had a great time looking at all of the fun fall decorations and pumpkins, checking out the market inside the barn, trying an apple cider slushy and picking apples.
This weekend, the orchard will open up its 8-acre, Minions-themed corn maze to visitors. Other fun, family activities include the barnyard bonanza (with a giant jumping pillow, spider web climber, corn crib and ball zone) and apple cannons.
Beasley's fall attractions will be available through Oct. 31.
Outdoor Movie Nights
The weather forecast looks promising for an outdoor movie this Friday night. Families are invited to enjoy Rogue One at Avon Town Hall Park at dusk. Admission is free.
Or you can head over to the park at the corner of Main and Milton streets in Coatesville from 4 to 8 p.m. to enjoy The Rookie. Refreshments will be available for purchase at the Coatesville event.
Montrose Farms will host its annual National Alpaca Farm Day Open House from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday. Admission is $2 (accompanied children 12 and under are free).
Check out Beth Fife's blog for more information about this fun event.
