DANVILLE, IN (November 30, 2017) – Nine Hendricks County events received $500 in funding from Visit Hendricks County closing out the 2017 TED Fund Events Grant.
The 2017 fourth quarter grant recipients included: Indiana Storm Chaser’s Convention, Plainfield Tri Kappa Gingerbread Christmas, Avon Vocal Invitational, Hendricks County Winter Farmers Market, House Concert at Bread Basket Cafe & Bakery, Hendricks County Half Marathon & 5K, Hendricks County Hoopfest, The Indiana Guitar Show and Known.
Visit Hendricks County awarded $11,000 this past year to support local events that enticed visitors to the county through its new grant program. In total, 22 events received funding in 2017. The non-matching Events Grants were awarded on a rolling grant cycle and closed quarterly.
The program will continue in 2018, and will be capped at $10,000 with grants awarded quarterly on a first-come, first-served basis. The next grant cycle is now open and ends Jan. 10 with grants awarded within 30 days.
Any Hendricks County-based event can request funding through an online nomination form. Events must attract visitors from at least 50 miles away, take place in Hendricks County and the event host must also be a Hendricks County organization or resident.
Other grant stipulations include only one request per event and two requests maximum per organization for the calendar year; VHC getting proper recognition or sponsorship package for the grant amount, if applicable; the money must be used for marketing purposes and the event must be eligible and submitted for inclusion on VHC’s Events Calendar. Applicants will be scored based on that criteria.
