DANVILLE, IN (August 9, 2017) – A variety of upcoming Hendricks County events including a band invitational, a Thanksgiving day tradition, a state conference and a beer-themed Halloween celebration were among the recipients of the latest Visit Hendricks County TED Fund Events Grant. Each event requested and received a $500 non-matching grant.

Visit Hendricks County will award up to $10,000 in 2017 to support local events that entice visitors to the county through the new grant program. So far, 13 events have received funding during the first two grant cycles for a total of $6,500. The non-matching Events Grants are awarded on a rolling grant cycle and close quarterly. The next grant cycle is now open and ends Oct. 11 with grants awarded within 30 days.

The third quarter grant recipients included: Avon Band Invitational, Dragstrip Dash Express, Fusion Fall Classic 2017, Hendricks County Hoppy Halloween, Hendricks Regional Health YMCA Gobble Gallop and 2018 Master Gardner State Conference.

Any Hendricks County-based event can request funding through an online nomination form. Events must attract visitors from at least 50 miles away, take place in Hendricks County and the event host must also be a Hendricks County organization or resident.

Other grant stipulations include only one request per event and two requests maximum per organization for the calendar year; VHC getting proper recognition or sponsorship package for the grant amount, if applicable; and the event must be eligible and submitted for inclusion on VHC’s Events Calendar. Applicants will be scored based on that criteria.
