You don't have to be Irish to enjoy St. Patrick's Day. Here in Hendricks County, we have some festivities to help us celebrate. Lucky us.

St. Patrick's Day is fast approaching and I've called around to find out where the party's at. So fetch your favorite green shirt and get ready to celebrate.

Before I tell you where you can get your green beer, let me share an opportunity to celebrate with the whole family.

Hendricks Symphonic Society's "Irish Festival"

A Stone's Throw, Pub and Eatery, Brownsburg

A Stone's Throw

I honestly can't believe St. Patrick's Day is almost upon us. But at A Stone's Throw - 36 E. Main St., Brownsburg - they are ready. Thursday normally is acoustic night, but on the 17th, you can count on a party.

The folks at A Stone's Throw had not finalized their "party" plans when I called, but they told me to expect a celebration with plenty of specials and entertainment.

You can get your green beer on St. Patty's Day at A Stone's Throw from 3 p.m.-3 a.m.

Green Street Pub and Eatery

This local favorite is already gearing up for their St. Patty's crowd. Those familiar with this pub and eatery - 911 N. Green St., Brownsburg - have made it a tradition to stop in for their popular Corned Beef and Cabbage. This year will be no exception, and the folks at Green Street will be serving it up all day.

In addition to the traditional Irish entree, you'll also find a host of Irish beers and festive cocktails on special. They'll extend their hours on St. Patrick's Day to 11 a.m.-midnight.

You can catch a second St. Patty's celebration at Green Street on Friday the 18th with Ashley and the Cosmos performing. Stop in for Irish beer, delicious grub and great live music. Sounds like a party you don't want to miss.

Diesel's Sports Grille

You can get your green beer at Diesel's - 20 W. Main St., Danville - on St. Patty's Day, or choose from their vast selection of other beers and cocktails.

The menu at Diesel's includes a variety of starters, burgers, sandwiches and salads. My family's favorite is the boneless wings.

On the 17th, you can expect a festive celebration with plenty of specials. It's sure to be a good time.

Claddagh Irish Pub is located in The Shops at Perry Crossing mall in Plainfield.

Did I mention the green beer?

Claddagh Irish Pub/No Luck Run

Claddagh Irish Pub in the Shops at Perry Crossing in Plainfield loves this holiday so much that they make a week long event out of it beginning March 11 and running through March 20. They, too, will have green beer ready and waiting and their traditional Irish entrees on special.

In addition, they will have live entertainment and music all week long and will culminate their week-long festivities as the start and finish line for the No Luck Run Half Marathon, 5K and 1/4-mile kids run on March 19. The family-friendly event will include kids activities, live music, and a heated outdoor beer/whiskey garden. Click here to register for any of the runs.

Yes, there are some really awesome places to celebrate St. Patrick's Day here in Hendricks County but wherever you spend the day, I hope it's filled with luck and laughter.
