If you have been following my posts, you know I love Beasley's Orchard in Danville, Ind. But I'm not alone. Indianapolis Monthly magazine even named this Hendricks County orchard as one of "50 Things Every Hoosier Must Do!" And let me tell you, there is no better time to visit Beasley's Orchard than during the Heartland Apple Festival. This annual festival extends over two weekends. This year it is set for Oct. 6-7 and 13-14. My family heads to the Heartland Apple Festival each year. This is always when my daughter chooses her pumpkin. Beasley's has several pumpkins to chose from in front of the market, or you can take a hayride out to the Pumpkin Patch. Hayrides are from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. on Saturdays and noon-5 p.m. on Sundays. The rides are $3 per person and kids under age 3 are free with an adult. If you are looking for adventure, find your way through the corn maze. This year's theme is "Korn Kingdom...Dare to be Brave!" This year's design portrays a fire-breathing dragon and castle fortress. To find your way through the maze you will have a series of questions. Each question will lead you in the right direction. Plan on 30 minutes to an hour to make your way through the maze. In addition to the pumpkin patch, hayrides and corn maze, enjoy an arts and crafts marketplace in an old Civil War-era barn, kids activity zone and live entertainment. Be sure to take your camera. I always get great fall pictures of my family at Beasley's. The 26th Annual Heartland Apple Festival
