Easter is April 5 this year, so there are a whole bunch of Easter activities taking place during the first weekend of the month around Hendricks County.

Hendricks Live! in Plainfield will offer several options for live music and theater throughout April, including:

Lucas Oil Indianapolis Raceway Park opens for the season in April! Two big indicators that it's time for us all to get outside and enjoy some motorsports!
The track has a full slate of racing throughout April, including Opening Weekend on April 11.

- NHRA North Central Division Spring Nationals on April 17-19
- E.T. Bracket Series Races #3 and #4 on April 25-26

Indiana Guitar Show
The Indiana Guitar Show is the largest gathering of musicians in the state of Indiana. They meet twice a year at the Hendricks County 4-H Fairgrounds & Conference Complex in Danville, with shows in April and September. The first show is April 11-12.
National dealers will be on hand with cash to evaluate your musical instruments, so bring your favorite to find out what it's worth. You can buy, sell or trade at the event. Admission is $15 per day per person, or you can purchase a T-shirt for $25 and get free two-day admission!
Indianapolis Gem, Mineral & Jewelry Show
Interested in gems, minerals, jewelry, fossils, beads and meteorites? Whether you are a collector of rocks, gems and minerals or simply love unique jewelry, the Indianapolis Gem, Mineral and Jewelry show at the Hendricks County 4-H Fairgrounds and Conference Complex in Danville on April 17-19 is for you.
Jewelers, gemologists, designers and collectors from all over the Midwest will offer all things rock-related, and there’s a little something for everyone to enjoy. Just a sampling of what you will discover includes specimens, fossils, gemstone jewelry, beads, lapidary supplies, local minerals and imports.
Gardening for All Ages
Hand-in-hand with spring is gardening, and you don't want to miss the 39th Annual Gardening for All Ages event on April 25 at the Hendricks County 4-H Fairgrounds & Conference Complex in Danville.
Hosted by the Hendricks County Master Gardeners, Gardening for All Ages has speakers, demonstrations, a children's area, vendors, expert help and, of course, oodles and oodles of plants and trees. Learn all the tips and tricks to get your garden looking spectacular this spring!
