From Food Truck to Bakery & Cafe
Dana Smith is excited to expand her BrewLab Canteen food truck business to a storefront in Downtown Plainfield. Since 2023, BrewLab Canteen has been a food truck staple at community events and farmers markets around central Indiana.
With the goal of serving the community and offering healthier food options, BrewLab's Mama Bird Bakery & Cafe is already making strides by expanding its menu by adding salads and light sandwiches. They also have broadened the existing drink menu to feature signature BrewLab Canteen drinks.
Baked Goods & Specialty Desserts
BrewLab's Mama Bird Bakery's & Cafe continuously offers signature baked goods, such as chocolate chip, snickerdoodle and buttercream sugar cookies, scones, muffins, cinnamon rolls, hand pies, macarons and so much more. Every month, they will roll out new featured flavors of these bakery items that are made fresh daily.
They also offer online and catering ordering, on many of their baked goods. On weekends, BrewLab's Mama Bird Bakery & Cafe offers $22 cakes.
Coffee & Refreshing Coolers
BrewLab's Mama Bird Bakery & Cafe offers a wide assortment of coffees, refreshers and energy drinks. Some that caught my eye were their specialty lattes, including Black Lab made with blackberry, cheesecake and white chocolate flavors, Chocolate Lab featuring a chocolate hazelnut flavor and Yellow Lab with cinnamon, honey and vanilla flavors.
Looking for something more adventurous? Try their cold brew coffee flavors that include a toasted marshmallow base like the Fluffernutter or Gi'Me S'more. Want something fruitier? Try the lemonade-based refreshers that come in a variety of fruity flavors and include the option of adding popping boba.
Brunch Additions
No longer limited to just baked goods, BrewLab's Mama Bird Bakery's & Cafe currently offers a rotation of savory hand pies, a chicken salad croissant, and a protein-packed parfait expanding their offerings to be more brunch friendly.
They plan to eventually expand their menu to include healthier sandwich and salad menu options. Keep watching their Facebook page for future announcements.
Plenty of Cozy Seating
BrewLab's Mama Bird Bakery & Cafe is the perfect coffee date spot or a cozy place to enjoy coffee and freshly baked goods while working remotely. With plenty of accent chairs and sofas, decorative wood features including a fireplace, and bench, table and countertop seating for 30 people, you will feel welcome and at home.
Guests can also enjoy the outdoor patio space. BrewLab's Mama Bird Bakery & Cafe is also planning to add outdoor entertainment throughout the summer.
Bakery Hours & Location
BrewLab's Mama Bird Bakery & Cafe recently updated their hours to stay open longer. Always check their Facebook page to confirm hours in case of early closures or changes with their schedule

- Tuesday - 7 a.m. -2 p.m.
- Wednesday-Saturday 7 a.m.-7 p.m.
- Sunday - 7 a.m.-2 p.m.
BrewLab's Mama Bird Bakery & Cafe is located in the Barlow, a mixed-use building in downtown Plainfield. The parking lot is behind the building and is shared with the residents of the Barlow, but there are spots specifically reserved for the businesses there, including the bakery.
