With Cinco de Mayo less than two weeks away and so many of us craving our favorite Mexican food, it seemed like a good time to share what some of our local Mexican restaurants are doing during this pandemic.
To pull this together though, I needed a hook; something new that Mexican restaurants have started offering since the governor ordered most of us to stay at home.
And then I found it; staring at me like a lime wedge and salt dangling on the rim of the glass – to-go margaritas. Yes, some of our favorite Mexican restaurants have begun to allow us to take their signature drinks home.
Can you believe it?
Here are the six restaurants in Hendricks County I found offering this service, and to say their customers are happy would be an understatement based on the comments I found on Facebook.
You can find a list of all Hendricks County restaurants, including more Mexican favorites, that remain open for carryout, curbside or delivery by checking out our Carryout Restaurant Guide here.
Featuring a Lime margarita special on Mondays, El Rodeo has remained open during this time offering both carry-out and delivery service. They even have a couple of family deals for $30 each.
Another favorite of margarita lovers, Los Rancheros has remained open for carryout only. One person on Facebook even commented that to-go margaritas may have been the best thing to come from this whole ordeal.
Technically just outside Hendricks County on the east side of Raceway Road, this restaurant still considers itself part of the Avon community and is offering Texas top shelf and its house lime margaritas for carryout or curbside pickup.
The Toros Mexican Bar and Grill
Customers of this local hangout couldn’t have been happier when they announced their classic margaritas were available for carry out.
Known for a variety of flavors including guava, mango, watermelon, pomegranate and many more, Iguanas margaritas have quite a following. They are offering both curbside pickup of food and drinks as well as delivery to residential areas in Plainfield.
Calling their offerings carry-out “Margarita Kits,” La Presa also has offered food specials for families in addition to their regular menu items for carry out during the pandemic. Some of their specials include a taco bar, Taste of Mexico and The Conquistador that feeds 10-12 people.

And make sure to check the Facebook pages of these restaurants for possible Cinco de Mayo specials as May 5 approaches.
