The restaurant's origin came from Lauren Brooks and her sister Jennifer Mull creating cookie recipes as a hobby and sharing their creations with others. In 2022, the sisters and their mom, Beth Ward, opened Creation Cookie Cafe in Downtown Danville, where they served breakfast, lunch, baked goods and coffee.
Over the last year, as their families have grown and changed, Jennifer has taken over more responsibility for the restaurant. With that, she has changed its name to Creation Cafe - Coffee & Bakery, which better aligns with a focus on hot drinks and baked goods. She also continues to transform the breakfast and lunch menu and make other subtle changes.
A Cozy Place to Eat in Danville
Creation sits inside a renovated home and offers a uniquely cozy atmosphere where you can enjoy their popular cookies and milk flight. Relax in comfy chairs and couches, or sit at a table and enjoy their shelf of tabletop games, which guests are welcome to use.
When the weather is warm, the front porch and back patio make perfect outdoor dining spots. There's free parking and a wheelchair-accessible ramp is available behind the building.
In-House Roasted Coffee
Creation Cafe - Coffee and Bakery is known for its commitment to high-quality ingredients. Their coffee is roasted on-site using organic, mold-free, fair-trade beans and is sold under the name Kingdom Coffee.
They use those beans in their coffee and espresso drinks at the cafe, but you can also purchase Kingdom Coffee whole beans to use at home. They will also grind the beans in the store by request.
Big Plans Ahead
Creation continues to grow and evolve, adding Italian cream sodas and dirty energy drinks. They've also changed their lunch menu, recently adding panini and bagel sandwiches.
Future goals include expanding the coffee program and adding a coffee trailer for events. They may eventually add dirty sodas to their offerings, as well.
A Danville Holiday Favorite: Santa in the Igloo
Every December, Creation hosts its popular Santa in an Igloo event. Families love the calm, private experience — you get the igloo all to yourself during your visit with Santa.
On Dec. 5, the cafe will open an hour early for kids who need a quieter, low-stimulus Igloo experience with Santa. Santa visits will be open to the public on the first two Fridays in December, and the igloo will also be available to rent for special occasions.
