I am not an artist but I am creative and I love learning new ways to be creative. Over the years, I've learned that I execute my creative endeavors better when I'm in a class or workshop setting, so I love our local DIY places. I can unleash my creativity with some instruction!
You can explore your creativity at Board & Brush in Brownsburg, Indiana, through workshops, private events and make & take items!
New Ownership
Board & Brush in Brownsburg has recently changed ownership, but it couldn't be in better hands. Meg Trapp took over ownership of the Brownsburg location in early fall and brings a deep connection to both the community and the business itself. A Brownsburg native, Meg worked at Board & Brush throughout high school, where she developed her passion for creativity and crafting.
Now, Meg is dedicated to creating a welcoming space where guests of all skill levels can explore their creativity, make something beautiful and enjoy the process. She's excited to be a part of the small business community in Brownsburg!
Explore your Creativity
In December, I had the chance to attend a workshop, and was blown away by the variety of unique projects being created! With about 28 participants, the room was alive with inspiration as everyone worked on their personalized designs.
Whether crafted from scratch, inspired by the studio's displays or based on pictures they brought from home, the studio was a buzz of creativity. Meg and her team excel at guiding participants through every step of the process. From sanding and staining to painting, hammering and assembling, each stage is clearly explained, allowing plenty of time for guests to work at their own pace.

Tips on Planning Your Workshop
- Book Ahead Online – Secure your spot by reserving your session in advance to ensure availability.
- Come Prepared with Ideas – Search for inspiration before your visit and bring photos or sketches to personalize your project.
- Bring Snacks and Drinks – Enhance your workshop experience with your favorite snacks or a bottle of wine (no beer allowed). Celebrating a birthday or special occasion? Don’t forget dessert! I spotted some treats from Brie & Bartlett and Crumbl Cookies at the workshop I attended.
- Plan Multiple Visits – With a wide variety of projects to choose from, you’ll want to return again and again to explore your creativity and try something new. They have classes for different ages too! So this would be a great workshop to take older kids too!
