Frost Bite has it all: Ice Cream, Nostalgia, Charm

As a kid I used to spend a few weeks each summer with my grandparents in upstate New York. One my favorite memories was stopping at the local ice cream shop. Once or twice a week we got to pick out whatever ice cream treat we wanted. Sometimes I opted for an ice cream cone, and other times I decided to splurge and order a sundae. I've been looking for a local ice cream shop in Hendricks County. A place with plenty of charm and nostalgia that would bring back those summer memories with my grandparents. And of course, the ice cream needs to be awesome! I recently found just the place and would recommend it to any resident or visitor. Frost Bite is located in Avon, Indiana and is easy to find. Just look for the blue and white Frost Bite sign. There is plenty of parking and you can opt to use the drive-thru if you're short on time or park and walk up to the counter. I had already eaten lunch earlier so I missed out on the chance to try some of Frost Bite's food, like sandwiches, fries, onion rings and more. They also offer kids' meals! I was in the mood for a sweet treat and spent a few minutes trying to decide what to order. There's a large menu of ice cream and ice cream treats, like sundaes and banana splits. So many tempting choices, but I ultimately went with my absolute favorite ice cream treat of all time: a cherry soda with vanilla ice cream. I asked a Frost Bite employee if the cherry soda is good, and he told me it was "really good." I only had to wait a couple of minutes for my cherry soda and walked back up to the counter to pick it up. I sat down at one of the umbrella tables and got ready to take my first sip of the cherry soda. It was so unbelievably good. It's cherry soda with vanilla ice cream and bits of cherries mixed in the drink and topped with whipped cream and a cherry. It's rich and thick and everything I wanted in a soda fountain ice cream drink. I can't wait to get back to Frost Bite so I can take a group of friends with me. I'm looking forward to trying out some of the food! If you're a dog owner, Frost Bite serves ice cream just for dogs. Another good reason to keep Frost Bite on your must-visit list in Hendricks County. If you've been to Frost Bite- I'd love to hear your thoughts and recommendations on what I should order on my next visit. Leave me a note in the comments. Frost Bite 7025 Galen Dr. W., Avon, Indiana.
