Splashes of color and artistry are brightening Hendricks County this summer. Hues of Hendricks County, a bold new public art initiative, features five large-scale murals in various communities across the county.
A partnership between the Hendricks County Arts Collective, the Indiana Arts Commission and Visit Hendricks County, the project brings together nationally recognized artists and local inspiration to celebrate the character, creativity and culture of each town.
If you love public art, road trips or a great selfie backdrop, these murals are a must-see.
Coatesville
The side of A&D Hardware in Coatesville now features a bold, stylized mural of a soaring hawk in flight.
Painted by Andrey Kravtsov, also known as KeyDetail, the piece bursts with movement and energy, utilizing geometric patterns and vibrant shades of red and blue to capture the spirit of the bird. The mural adds a powerful visual to the Coatesville community.
Danville
Tucked behind the Gallery on the Square, this new mural in Danville transforms two ordinary walls into a vibrant, large-scale still life. Painted by Serbian-American artist Anthony Brooks, the piece showcases colorful glass vases, blooming flowers and a perched bird offering an artistic tribute to nature and everyday beauty.
What makes this installation so unique is its depth. Up close, the mural might seem distorted. But look past The Beehive next time you pass by on Main Street, and you'll be at the perfect angle to see a seamless visual as it was intended.

Lizton – Fire Station
Painted by Efren Rebugio Jr., also known as EverydayResearch, the Lizton mural is bursting with vivid color and symbolism. The piece features glowing orange hands gently holding a flower, surrounded by imagery like birds, a firefighter helmet, a crown and sunglasses.
Each element reflects pieces of local identity, history and culture, coming together in a modern tribute to the Tri-West community. This striking mural can be found on the side of the Lizton Fire Station.
North Salem
Artist Angie Jerez brought her unique energy to North Salem with a flowing, floral-inspired mural that transforms the corner of Pearl and Main streets. Her signature abstract style comes to life in swirling shapes and contrasting colors, creating the feeling of movement on the historic red brick façade.
The botanical forms feel both wild and intentional, adding artistic flair to the heart of this small town.
Plainfield – Parking Garage
Andrea Myers, with support from GANGGANG, will transform the downtown Plainfield parking garage into a vibrant symbol of community pride. Local residents donated meaningful fabrics and participated in a hands-on art workshop during the July 4th celebration to help shape the final design.
The mural will eventually weave personal stories into a large-scale, textured installation that reflects Plainfield’s identity and spirit. Once complete, it will stand as a bold, permanent reminder that Plainfield is anything but plain.
Hues of Hendricks' Future
Stay tuned as this year's art installations mark the beginning of the Hues of Hendricks art projects. The Hendricks County Arts Collective, in conjunction with Visit Hendricks County, plans to install art throughout the county in the coming years, with future announcements to follow.
By transforming public spaces through art, this placemaking initiative aims to create a more appealing destination that inspires community pride and enhances quality of place.
