Building on the success of the various farmers markets throughout Hendricks County, Indiana, Hendricks County Parks & Recreation has created its own farmers market at W.S. Gibbs Memorial Park!
And when you host a farmers market in a park, it becomes...a Farmers Parket!
What is a Farmers Parket?
Simple! It's a farmers market in a park! It's a very similar concept -- vendor booths that provide a wide variety of shopping opportunities -- but in a park setting.
The Farmers Parket at W.S. Gibbs Memorial Park already has vendors lined up selling baked goods, food, coffee, mocktails, antiques, crystals, candles and so much more!
Farmers Parket Details
There will be a Farmers Parket at W.S. Gibbs Memorial Park on Aug. 2 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., and then another at the same location on Sept. 6 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Both events are free to attend.
Senior Park Naturalist Ryann Hoffman also informs me that a McCloud Market will take place at McCloud Nature Park, located outside of North Salem, on October 11 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., in conjunction with the annual Fall Colors Festival. The festival and the market are both free to attend.

Seeking Vendors
Spots for vendors remain for any or all of the three markets planned for this year. If you like to sell your wares at farmers markets and would like some space in these popular events, Ryann and her staff want to hear from you!
She said they are most interested in small businesses and artisans, but are open to vendors who may have something different in mind. Vendor space is inexpensive, and the best way to contact Ryann is via email.
Enjoy Other Park Amenities
The Farmers Parket is a great reason to come to W.S. Gibbs Memorial Park, but it's certainly not the only thing to do while you're there! Bring the family, bring the leashed dogs and make a day of it!
Play on the playground, explore nature, play disc golf, have a picnic, walk the trails, and licensed anglers can fish the ponds for free. There's something for everyone at the park!
