Summer in Hendricks County is seriously one of the best times of the year! We have so many things to do that really engage families, communities and visitors. Whether it's enjoying the county fair, Fourth of July, the sounds of drag racing or even the opening of a new park we have something for everyone in July.

Here's some of our top events this month:

Laughter Yoga With AlpacasMontrose Farm, Alpacas, yoga, Alpaca yoga

There's apparently a niche for combining laughing, yoga and alpacas! So you don't want to miss Laughter Yoga With Alpacas at 3 p.m. July 10 at Montrose Farms Alpaca Ranch in Brownsburg. 

The one-hour class, which involves minimal stretching and much laughter, will take place in a pasture with alpacas. People of all ages and abilities are encouraged to participate.

Wild Wednesdays

Head out with your street-legal car to Lucas Oil Raceway in Brownsburg for Wild Wednesdays from 5 to 10 p.m. on July 14, 21 and 28 for a fun evening of racing! 

Each week the event includes a Top 5 fastest "Street Warriors" who reach the fastest speeds on the quarter mile. Each top 5 finisher will receive an exclusive sticker and be recognized on the Lucas Oil Raceway website, social media and in person at the track.

Rock the BlockRock the Block in Brownsburg this summer!

Rock the Block in Brownsburg is the perfect summer combination of food trucks, live music, yard games, a beer and wine garden and more free family fun!

Bring your family, friends and lawn chairs out to Arbuckle Acres Park from 7 to 9 p.m. on July 15

Emily Ann Thompson will perform live music, and this event is free. 

Summer Sounds On the Square

There's nothing better than a summer evening with friends and some live music! And the historic Hendricks County Courthouse Square in Danville provides the perfect setting each month during Summer Sounds on the Square.

The amazing Jennie DeVoe will perform in July. Bring your family, friends and lawn chairs for her live music at 7 p.m. on July 17.  

A food court and adult beverages will be available inside the venue. No coolers are allowed. Tickets are $10 for those 21 and older. All others are free.

Don't miss one of the most anticipated events of the summer in Hendricks County!

The Hendricks County 4-H Fair returns daily July 18-24 at the Hendricks County 4-H Fairgrounds and Conference Complex in Danville. There will be shows, animals and food galore for you and your family to enjoy.

NHDRO Racing

You don't want to miss the largest motorcycle drag racing series in the Midwest!

If cars aren't your thing, these motorcycles speeding down the track will blow your mind. Check out NHDRO Racing at Lucas Oil Raceway in Brownsburg July 30 through Aug. 1.

W.S. Gibbs Memorial Park Grand OpeningArtist's rendition of W.S. Gibbs Memorial Park

We have a brand new park opening in Hendricks County! Come to the grand opening from 9 to 10 a.m. July 21 at 4521 Gibbs Road in Avon and then stay to enjoy all the new amenities.

W.S. Gibbs Memorial Park includes 70 acres featuring two ponds totaling 5.5 acres, two large pavilions, nature-themed playground equipment, an 18-hole disc golf course, picnic areas, a 30-foot-tall observation hill and more!

After the grand opening, the park will be open from dawn to dusk daily. Admission to the park and the disc golf course is free.
