I love a good deal, great products and shopping local when possible. Not only can you shop for brand name items at Style Threads Resale and Boutique, you can also clean out the closet and rotate your own selection too.
Suzy Pineda opened Style Threads Resale and Boutique in Avon, Indiana, in 2012. Her daughter, Tiffany Wallace, joined her two years later and the mother/daughter team say they are offering the best of both worlds: shopping gently used women’s clothing and a selection of new boutique pieces too.
Style Threads boasts luxury handbags, including Louis Vuitton, Gucci and Chanel. Clothing, jewelry, shoes and small home goods are available and even better, they are all at a discounted rate because they are gently used.
The Boutique side has similar but new items, offering an ever-changing cycle of options for shoppers. Clothing sizes range from extra small to 3X.
Some might think working as a mother-daughter team might prove difficult but not for these two. Tiffany said her favorite part of the job is working with her mom but also the team, like Valerie, their long-time store manager and customers that have become just like family.
Those who love to shop and support local businesses also love that Tiffany and Suzy know them by name.

Pineda and Wallace are admittedly picky. They only accept high-quality, brand name items that are no more than two or three years old. Staff at the store will review the items and quote a price if you want to walk out the door with cash.
Or consigners can leave their items at the store and when sold, they get a percentage of the profit. Luxury bags, for example, yield 80 percent or more of the sale price for the consigner. So, if you’re willing to wait, it’s ends up being a great deal and more cash in your pocket.
If you’re a true bargain hunter, Style Threads has a sale room or cash clearance room for customers interested in the ultimate deal.
Proceeds from that room, along with clothing or items that don’t sell are all donated to local nonprofit organizations in Hendricks County.
