Even though the end of summer is upon us, there is still opportunities to participate in warm weather runs/walks in Hendricks County. The popular Summer Fun Run Series has four events throughout August. Other running/walking events include Project Lifesaver 5K and Run For Their Lives 5K. Both benefit fantastic causes! Join Hendricks County runners/walkers in maintaining a healthy lifestyle and reaching fitness goals while enjoying the last bit of summer.
The Summer Fun Run Series
Trying to participate in enough runs/walks to earn a T-shirt? Still haven't checked out this casual, family-friendly fun run series? No worries, four more events are scheduled for August. All take place at a beautiful Hendricks County park on Wednesday evenings during the summer. You can arrive anytime between 6 and 7 p.m. Options for distance include a 1 mile or 5K.
Most of the runs/walks are not timed. However, Racemaker Productions attends a few events, so official timing is available.
I attended the Avon Town Hall park event this past Wednesday, Due to the heat and humidity, most participants were walking. Maps are located near the start line but the courses are well marked so if you miss the map, the courses are still easy to navigate. Lots of families were in attendance, as the courses are stroller friendly. Dogs are also welcome!
Wanting a break from the hustle and bustle of family life or maybe just want to have an adult conversation? Bring a friend or two to walk or run with you!
