Visit Hendricks County recently conducted a Facebook poll regarding popular Thai restaurants in the area. We listed four eateries and asked readers to choose their favorite one. Choices included Bangkok Kitchen, Thai Orchid, Thai Lanna and Thai Basil.

The competition was fierce! Bangkok Kitchen came out on top but the others were close behind.

Bangkok Kitchen was also included in another blog post, Yelp's top restaurants in Hendricks County, IN. Seems it's time to check out Bangkok Kitchen first hand and see what the hype is all about!Bangkok Kitchen is conveniently located on US. Hwy 36.

Bangkok Kitchen

My husband and I were very impressed with our first dining experience at a Hendricks County Thai eatery! Bangkok Kitchen provides an elegant atmosphere, fabulous food and great service.

Thai-inspired wall decor, warm colors and soft music create an elegant, yet relaxing ambiance. Our kids were with us, and a small menu is offered. However, it seems more appropriate for a date night.

We were immediately sat by the friendly staff, and our server greeted us. The menu offers many selections with detailed descriptions. Earlier in the day, I read reviews from Yelp and their Facebook page, and we decided to try those recommendations. They were definitely spot on!

Loved the crab rangoon! We started with the crab rangoon appetizer. What a perfect combination of crab, cream cheese and a sweet dipping sauce. As for entrees, I choose the pad kee mao (drunken noodles) with beef and my husband went with the chicken pad thai. These dishes offer various options of meat/seafood/tofu and a range of 5 spice levels (mild, medium, hot, extra hot or thai hot).

As soon as we finished our appetizer, our entrees arrived still steaming. Both of these generously sized dishes consisted of the perfect amount of spices and seasonings, noodles cooked just right and tasty vegetables and meat. We are looking forward to trying other menu items in the near future. Options include salads, soups, curry dishes, fried-rice dishes and chef specials.

Fried banana dessert, very yummy!Although our stomachs were completely full, we somehow had room for dessert. We opted to share the fried bananas with vanilla ice cream, whipped cream, honey and coconut flakes. It was a hit, and we finished every last bite!

A cozy bar area is located toward the back of the restaurant with a view of their huge wall of wine. Not only do they offer a great wine selection, but also a variety of beer and tasty cocktails. Several cocktails came highly recommended in the reviews.
