If you love Volkswagens or just cars in general, a huge event will make its triumphant return to the Hendricks County 4-H Fairgrounds & Conference Complex in early October.

Yes, Volktoberfest 2021 will return Oct. 9-10 bringing Volkswagen lovers together again for car shows, vendor swapping, family activities, camping and so much more.

Here's an insider guide of what to expect during this two-day event:

Most of Saturday will focus on the car show with hundreds of current and vintage vehicles on display and more than 75 awards presented. You will be floored by all the vintage Beetles and Buses.

This is your chance to see them and all the vintage and modern day vehicles up close and talk to the owners who've spent so much sweat and dollars on these passion projects.

But it doesn't stop there. Make sure to check out the many vendors selling merchandise or services for your current cars or swapping vintage pieces and parts for those renovation projects or VW treasure hunters.

Family & Food

A Kids Fun Zone has become a popular part of this event allowing future Volkswagen owners to have a little fun in mini VWs. Games, inflatables and much more make this a family-friendly event.

A variety of food trucks and food vendors also will provide plenty of options when you're ready to refuel.

The event itself kind of starts on Friday night as organizers and vendors arrive to set up and participants who want to camp show up to set up their "homes" for the weekend.

If you aren't camping yourself, you have to make sure you make the extra effort sometime during the weekend to check out Campers Village. This area is kind of a separate car show in and of itself.

It is so interesting to see how these VW enthusiasts set up their camp sites, and is definitely a must-see.

Sunday tends to be the day for this event's traditional contests that include an Audio Sound-Off, where participants get to show off the sound systems they retrofitted into their vehicles.

But that's not all, as another group of participants show off their engines during Exhaust Wars, where they rev up their engines competing to be the loudest in both air-cool and water-cool classes.

Organizers also have promised to have a couple of surprise events they are keeping under wraps until the weekend of the event.

So, mark your calendars and pull out your hippie attire for Volktoberfest 2021 Oct. 9-10 in Danville, Indiana.
