The first full weekend of October will arrive in just a few days, and we have a full lineup of activities that you can enjoy in Hendricks County.
Join Hendricks County residents in this popular, fall tradition. Beasley's Orchard in Danville promises a fun-filled two days for the whole family. The Heartland Apple Festival fun includes hayrides to the U-pick pumpkin patch, a Minion-themed corn maze, a barnyard bonanza family activity area, food vendors, delicious apple cider slushies, live entertainment and much more.
Check out Stephanie Porter's blog post for more details and insider tips. This two-weekend event occurs this Saturday and Sunday and the following weekend, Oct.14-15. Beasley's Orchard is located at 2304 E. Main St. in Danville.
Nehemiah Ranch Fall Harvest Festival
Another fun, family friendly outing begins in Avon on Saturday, but if you just can't make it this weekend, it also offers two other opportunities to visit the following two Saturdays.
Activities this Saturday will be from 6-10 p.m. This event doesn't charge a fee to enter, but instead asks for donations for its hayrides, roasting your own s'mores and hot dogs, picking out pumpkins and live music.
The 34-acre Nehemiah Ranch can be found at 1420 N. County Road 600 East in Avon.
Residents and visitors of all ages love viewing the hand-crafted scarecrows that take residence every year during the month of October on the historic Hendricks County Courthouse Square in Danville.
Come out anytime through Oct. 31 to this must-see free display and make sure to make a day or evening of it by shopping or eating at the many locations surrounding the square.
We will have more details about this display including Eric Ivie's firsthand experience coming up later this week right here on the Hendricks County Insider Blog.
