At the game last Sunday as the Colts secured their first win of the 2011 season, my seats in Lucas Oil Stadium were just across from the Home of the Super Bowl 2012 sign. Right then, I realized that the big game was just 50 days away. Hard to believe the sign has been there three seasons and the grand finale will be here in just a few weeks. Over the last month, we've been hard at work preparing our Super Celebration Site that will showcase Hendricks County and Plainfield, Indiana.
  • Our Super Kids Super Welcome cards have been submitted (811 and counting from Hendricks County).
  • We will send a check totaling $4,195 to Indy’s Super Cure this week from our Super Feathers program.
  • Construction has begun on our new Duke Energy Event Center @ Serendipity, which will serve as the epicenter for our Super Bowl festivities at Metropolis Shopping Center in Plainfield.
Meanwhile, new information is coming out daily, including the just-announced Know Before You Go Transportation and Parking program that highlights transportation details for all 10 days surrounding the event. Here on the west side, guests can find easy park-and-ride options from the former Airport Long Term Parking Lots at 2155 S. High School Road where you can reserve your spot and ride downtown for a nominal fee. Tickets for the NFL Experience are on sale now and make great holiday gifts. This will be a site to see and great weekend getaway the weekend BEFORE the game. Plan a few nights in Hendricks County in one of our affordable hotels and package that with NFL Experience tickets, a visit to Metropolis Shopping Center and some sightseeing at the Super Bowl Village, and you have the makings of a football fan’s dream weekend. Everything starts Friday Jan. 27 and runs through Super Bowl Sunday, Feb. 5, but your best bet to find a room and limit the congestion would be to come here that first weekend, Jan. 27-29. Follow along on our Super Celebration Site Page at and right here on our All Access Hendricks County blog for event schedules, special activities, giveaways, transportation details and more. We have a lot of activities we are still finalizing right here in Hendricks County and a lot of announcements still to come over the next month. While it will be busy for all of us, we are just so thrilled to have this opportunity to provide a super-sized welcome to our national visitors and local residents while showcasing what Hendricks County has to offer.
