Anime dates back to the 1960s but began attracting a larger audience in the 1980s and 90s with shows like Dragon Ball Z and Sailor Moon. Follow that up with the release of Pokémon, and the artform is now a major part of global pop culture.

Today, fans of the Japanese-art style share a unique passion and will unite under the Embassy Suites by Hilton Hotel & Conference Center’s roof in Plainfield, Indiana, for an Anime Crossroads event that is bound to be a ton of fun.

The entire weekend of Feb. 20-22, 2026, will be packed with performances, special guests, gaming and more. It’s also family-friendly, so bring the kids along (or the parents) to experience the unique offerings.

Anime Crossroads is returning to Plainfield, Indiana, for its 16th year as one of the Midwest’s largest anime events.

Popular activities will also return, including Pink Peaches Maid Café!, the Electronic Dance Party, the Cosplay Masquerade and Idol Fete. Idol Fete is not a competition but a cool talent show featuring Kpop, Jpop, original and more.

Artist’s Alley will feature a plethora of artists, authors and handmade products – all Anime related – to provide the perfect souvenir or gift for a loved one.

There will be 24/7 gaming opportunities, including the video game room with dozens of your favorites like Super Mario World, Street Fighter and Sonic the Hedgehog. When you’ve had enough gaming excitement, stop by the Chill Room to take a breather and enjoy manga, puzzles, coloring materials and more.
