New Rooftop Igloos
You can reserve the rooftop igloos in two-hour increments in the evenings Tuesdays through Saturdays and during brunch on Sundays this winter. Igloo reservations are $25 with a $100 food and beverage minimum purchase required.
Each igloo can seat up to six people and include heaters, blankets, bluetooth speakers, table games and a tabletop firepit. So make it a date night or a friends or family night out! We really enjoyed playing games and making s'mores as the evening got cooler.
Delicious Food
While in the igloo, you have access to the full menu. We ordered drinks, appetizers and dinner.
The Prewitt is known for it's high-end unique dishes and our steak and salmon dinners were perfect. They have a variety of dishes on their menu, and they've kept the theater theme throughout calling the main course, the Main Feature and the desserts The Credits.

Reserve Early
When I looked into reserving an igloo, we had planned for a Saturday evening date night but they were already booked!
Take Advantage of Happy Hour
We arrived at 5:30 p.m. on a Friday and saved some money with their happy hour specials.
The Prewitt offers happy hour specials Tuesday through Friday from 4-6pm.
ADA-Accessible Limitations
The Prewitt is an older building, and they do not have an elevator to their upstairs and rooftop.
Their first floor, however, is ADA accessible.
Get S'mores
To be honest, after drinks, appetizers and dinner, I wasn't hungry for dessert, but when the s'mores plate arrived I was so glad we got them.
The table-top fire and s'mores were a perfect end to a great experience.
Old Theater Turned Restaurant
Whether you decide the winter igloos are for you are not, I still would highly encourage you to visit this historic attraction. The Prewitt Theater opened on Main Street in Plainfield in 1927 but over the years it changed from live theater to a movie theater to sitting empty.
It reopened in 2022 as The Prewitt Restaurant + Lounge offering upscale cuisine in a casual atmosphere. The restoration of the building as well as the menu layout and other details pay homage to the original 1920s theater.
