"Artists Paint the Town"

The Gallery on the Square in Historic Danville, Indiana is hosting a "Plein Air Paint-Out & Wet Paint Sale" What is "Plein AIr"? "Plein Air" is the French term for painting in the outdoors. Registered painters check in at the Gallery on the Square at 8:00 am, at the Train station in Ellis Park located at 600 E. Main St. where they will receive a list of suggested painting sites. Paintings must be turned in by 4:00 pm at the train station in Ellis Park. The first-place winner will receive $500, sponsored by the Hendricks County Arts Council. Second place is $250, sponsored by Abstract and Title Company. Third place is $150, sponsored by Danville Tri Kappa.   A People’s Choice winner will also be announced.  Is this just for experienced Plein Air Painters? No! The paint-out is open to anyone who wants to paint outside. Please visit our website to register and learn more. Registration includes snacks and a light evening meal.
