An annual McCloud favorite, our Maple Syrup Days allow visitors a hands-on experience while discovering the rich, delicious history of maple sugaring. Learn how to tap a tree, watch a demonstration of the process as it used to be done in the pioneer days, and take a visit to our Sugar Shack to see how syrup is made today!
Things to do during these days:
Tap a tree yourself.
Explore the "Sugar Bush" area.
Find ways to identify trees in winter.
Learn how Native Americans first made maple syrup and how colonial Americans advanced the process.
Visit the "Sugar Shack", where the modern-day evaporator will be condensing hundreds of gallons of sugary sap into sweet, rich maple syrup.
You can also sample 100% all-natural McCloud Maple Syrup (tapped from the maple trees right here in our park), and purchase a bottle to take home.
