Overview
As part of the monthly series to explore open sections of the cross-state NRHT (nrht.org) and to highlight national Celebrate Trails Day, this 20-mile bike ride focuses on Plainfield's paved Vandalia Trail and several connected trails, plus includes a stop for lunch and to visit a Historic National Road interpretive panel along the way.

The group will meet at 9:30 AM at the south end of the parking lot of Plainfield’s Richard A. Carlucci Recreation and Aquatic Center, then first ride west to the end of Plainfield’s Vandalia Trail, followed by a return trip through Plainfield to the east end of its Vandalia Trail, plus short side trips on several connected trails in Plainfield, one of which will include a stop at the Historic National Road interpretive panel next to White Lick Creek in Plainfield. There will also be several options available for a lunch stop along the way.
