Barley Thyme Kitchen + Brew: Upscale Pub Fare Just Outside of Indy
Published on
Tucked away in the charming town of Danville, Indiana, you'll find a true culinary gem that perfectly blends small-town warmth with elevated dining: Barley Thyme Kitchen + Brew.
This isn't just another stop for a quick bite; it's a family-owned destination where every plate and pint tells a story of passion and quality.
Thoughtfully Crafted Food
The heart of Barley Thyme is its dedication to elevated fare. The menu is a reflection of the owner and chef’s vision, featuring thoughtful, scratch-made food that goes well beyond typical pub grub.
While you'll always find expertly prepared core favorites like juicy burgers, savory bone-in wings and healthy salads, the truly unforgettable experiences come from seasonal offerings. How does four-cheese ravioli with brown butter sage sauce, a refreshing rainbow beet salad or perfectly cooked bone-in pork chop sound?
A Beer Lover's Paradise
As the name suggests, the "Brew" is a major draw. Barley Thyme features a selection of in-house-brewed beers, ranging from light, crisp selections to darker, more complex styles. My personal favorite is their smooth and flavorful Brown Ale.
If you're looking for variety, don't worry — the bar also boasts a healthy selection of guest beers, along with a full cocktail and wine menu, ensuring every visitor finds their perfect pairing.
Save Room For Dessert
No visit to Barley Thyme is complete without a sweet finish. While the classic cookie skillet is a customer favorite, always keep an eye out for the chef's spontaneous sweet treats.
Recent dessert specials have included decadent creations, such as the toffee almond bundt cake à la mode.
Barley Thyme Kitchen + Brew truly offers a vibrant, welcoming atmosphere and genuinely delicious food and drink, making it a must-visit whether you're a local or just passing through Hendricks County.
