What better way to support a community than by shopping local?
I love late spring throughout the summer, when farmers' markets come alive in Hendricks County, Indiana, but you don't need to wait until then to shop local and find the best products our destination has to offer.

Products can be purchased through preorder on the Freshly Dairy website 'Purchase' page for on-farm pick up. You can also visit their barn and get assistance from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturdays.
Fresh Produce
My grandpa was a farmer, and I have family members who operate a seasonal fresh produce stand, so I really appreciate locally grown produce. There is something about that freshness that big-name grocers cannot replicate.
I love Indiana's fresh strawberries and sweet corn, which are staples in our house during the summer. Don't forget to check out these local Hendricks County Farmers Markets for locally grown produce:
- Beasley's Orchard 2304 E. Main St., Danville
- Belleville Farm Market 1882 E. U.S. Highway 40, Clayton (Open Seasonally May through Labor Day Weekend)
Prime Cuts
When the weather is nice, there is no better way to enjoy a perfect cut of meat than cooked to perfection on the grill.
These local butchers are true craftsmen, carving up prime cuts of meat along with other market goodies, including rubs, sauces, picnic salads and more:
- Moody's Butcher Shop, 235 N. Avon Ave., Avon
- Gold Cleaver Meat Market, 8100 E. U.S. Highway 36, Avon

Elevate your meals with freshly baked artisan breads, baked to delicious perfection at these local bakeries:
