Plan a Getaway Around Beasley’s Orchard
Published on
As one of Hendricks County’s premiere destinations, visitors likely plan to spend several hours at Beasley’s Orchard.
Whether you’re visiting to pick your own strawberries, apples or flowers or participating in the season-long festivities surrounding fall, pumpkins, hayrides and Halloween, you don’t miss the other activities just minutes away in Danville before or after your trip to the orchard.
Consider this your ultimate guide to extend your stay with top recommendations of things to do just outside the orchard, including some indoor options in case of bad weather.
A Day At Beasley's Orchard
Before I get to the other things to do, I wanted you to know that there is plenty to make a full day out of a trip to Beasley’s Orchard, especially in the fall, as the farm has each weekend packed with themed events such as the Heartland Apple Festival and Dog Days at the Maze.
Other activities include their giant corn maze, apple cannons, Barnyard Bonanza family area, u-pick apples and hayrides to the pumpkin patch. Plan to spend several hours or more there and don’t forget to shop in the barn market, which is packed with fresh, homegrown produce.
Restaurants In Danville

Before or after your trip to Beasley’s, your group is sure to be hungry and mere minutes away, some of Danville’s favorite restaurants are serving breakfast, lunch, dinner and drinks.
Grab breakfast or lunch at the Bread Basket Cafe & Bakery, Court House Grounds or The Beehive; grab lunch or dinner at Frank’s Place, Square Burger or the iconic Mayberry Café. Or if you simply want to enjoy some adult beverages or cool desserts to take a break from a long day on the farm, you can do that, too, at The Kickstand Bar and Grill or Central Normal Tap for the adult drinks and Danville Dips for those sweet treats.
Places To Stay
A trip to Beasley’s can easily become a weekend getaway, and Hendricks County has plenty of hotel and rental options.
The closest would be Marmalade Sky, a Danville bed and breakfast, or the Simon Cottage & Stays rental home. These properties will also provide you access to the quaint, walkable town, providing more to see and do before or after your trip to the orchard.

Indoor Activities
Hendricks County Historical Museum
Indiana weather can be unpredictable, especially in the fall. If the plan is to spend several hours at Beasley’s and you find yourself in extreme heat or a rain shower, there are some local spots to grab some shelter, air conditioning and have some fun too.
You can catch a movie at The Royal Theater on Friday or Saturday night or a matinee on Sunday or spend a couple of hours exploring the Hendricks County Historical Museum, open from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays. If you are willing to drive a little further, there are also plenty of indoor family attractions and DIY options at some of the neighboring towns that are within a 15- to 30-minute drive.
The Great Outdoors
Maybe you enjoyed Beasley’s outdoor activities, but your crew wants even more outdoor fun.
Depending on the time of year and the weather, you could enjoy a creek stomp, play on the playground or round up family and friends for a fun game of pickleball at Ellis Park in Danville, or check out any of our other nearby parks, such as W.S. Gibbs Memorial Park or Washington Township Park and its legendary Avon Haunted Bridge.
