Rock Star Pizza in Brownsburg Perfects Keto Diet Menu Options
Published on
If you've ever been on a keto diet or know anyone who has, you know it can often be difficult to eat out. It can be especially difficult to find a restaurant that offers keto or low-carb pizza that tastes good.
Rock Star Pizza in Brownsburg, Indiana, has become the go-to spot for both keto options and traditional menu items.
What Is A Keto Diet?
Keto actually stands for the ketogenic diet. The keto diet entails eating as few carbs as possible to force the body to produce ketones. When the body produces ketones, it enters a metabolic state called ketosis.
In short, this diet forces the body to burn fat to produce energy, which in turn causes weight loss and even less obvious benefits such as reduced hunger and a steady supply of energy, keeping the dieter more alert and focused. This diet has become huge for people with Type 2 diabetes as well as others on a weight-loss journey, and Rock Star Pizza has lots of keto options!
Keto-Friendly Menu Items
Rock Star Pizza owners Ron and Colby Matthews started by offering low-carb options. They saw an underserved group and wanted to find ways to meet that need.
They offer a salad bar, keto or low-carb soups, low-carb and keto appetizers and sandwiches and even keto desserts. They have a long list of subs that they can make on their keto-friendly bread, too.
Keto-Friendly Pizza
When it comes to pizza, the biggest issue for those on the keto or low-carb diet is the crust. Restaurants, especially pizza places, began experimenting with keto-friendly crusts, often using a cauliflower mixture as a base or even a "crustless" pizza, but dieters found them lacking in taste and texture.
Rock Star Pizza has perfected its keto crusts, which are handmade using almond flour, cream cheese, egg, Parmesan, mozzarella and provolone cheeses. Loyal customers looking for a keto pizza come from hours away to enjoy their tasty recipe. You can see some of their pizza nutritional information on their website.
Our Experience
Rock Star Pizza is a local favorite, from their community spirit and support to their delicious food. We've gone a few times, and I personally love the salad bar, which offers a variety of toppings, and you can add soups and pizza too!
Even though I am not on a keto diet, I've tried their keto crust out of curiosity. The keto crust was like a thin-crust pizza. Had I not known it was a keto crust, I wouldn’t have noticed any difference; the flavor combinations were delicious.
Beyond The Food
When I hear about Rock Star Pizza, I often hear about the food, but I also hear about how they are so great to the Brownsburg community.
They often do fundraisers or give lunch to local emergency workers. They work, live and support their community, and in return the community supports them. At the end of 2025, their oven stopped working, and the community rallied together to help provide a new one!
Rock Star Pizza, or the 'Star Restaurant', as our kids started calling it, is definitely a place to add to your must-try restaurants, whether you are a keto dieter or not.
