- FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE -
DANVILLE, IN (Sept. 8, 2026) – The United States Tennis Association (USTA) has named the Avon High School Tennis Center and the Brownsburg High School Tennis Complex as two of 41 winners in the USTA’s annual Outstanding Facility Awards program, which recognizes excellence in the construction and/or renovation of tennis facilities throughout the country. Only one other complex in the state (Muncie) was also recognized.
All 41 recipients were honored last week at an awards reception held at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in New York as part of the 2026 US Open.
In addition to the facility awards, Spencer Fields was named one of the first recipients of the inaugural 35 x 35 President’s Impact Award, recognizing individuals and organizations across the country for their contributions to the growth of tennis.
The President’s Impact Award supports the USTA’s mission to grow the U.S. tennis playing population to 35 million by 2035. The award honors those who have made a meaningful impact on the sport over the past two years at the national, sectional and community levels.
Fields, the head coach of the boys and girls Brownsburg High School varsity tennis programs, organized the first-ever Indiana Hardcourt Championships, hosted at the Brownsburg High School Tennis Complex last month. Serving as the final ATP Challenger Tour stop in The USTA’s 2026 US Open Wild Card Challenge, the event attracted players, coaches, officials and tennis fans from across the country and globe.
