The Hendricks County Convention and Visitors Bureau, Inc. Board of Directors announced Kyle Johnson joined the team at Visit Hendricks County as the Director (VP) of Marketing Strategy in late August. In his role, Johnson will focus on developing and managing marketing efforts for the destination to increase visitor spending while creating awareness of the destination’s things to see and do for visitors and residents.

“I have spent most of my professional career promoting my home state as a great place to visit, play and stay, and I’m thrilled to do the same for my home county,” Johnson said. “Visit Hendricks County, under the leadership of Jaime Bohler Smith, has built an outstanding team of professionals, which made this opportunity very appealing for me. I’m excited to get to work building on the organization’s successes and shaping the future for our incredible county.”

Immediate Priorities as VP

Johnson will develop and lead the 2025 initiatives based on strategies that come from the organization’s updated strategic pillars to be announced in October. VHC is finalizing three major studies this month including a resident sentiment survey, a brand awareness study and an industry stakeholder prioritization study and will release key findings next month.

“Determining our best customers will be a key area for me,” Johnson stated. “Based on data we already received, we will restructure our marketing team and add additional professionals to help us meet the plan’s goals and the demands of the current destination marketing landscape. With the rollout of the strategic plan, everything will be on the table including rebranding, re-messaging and re-tooling our approach. It’s going to be a busy time pulling all this together, and I’m excited to work with our team to chart the course forward for our county.”
