Alternative Sports Activities in Hendricks County Indiana

Published on August 7, 2024

I've always been a sports enthusiast, but my body just won't hold up to traditional sports anymore, so as I get...wiser over time, I'm starting to take a bigger interest in alternative sports activities.

As it turns out, we have several options here in Hendricks County, Indiana!

Try some archery at the Pine Hill Archery Club in Danville.

We have a couple of places in Danville, Indiana that provide archery ranges and activities.

The Danville Conservation Club has a large field on their property where its members can shoot. There are no permanent backstops or shooting positions in place, but DCC has targets for their members to use. The Pine Hill Archery Club has an indoor and an outdoor course, as well as a wide array of 3D targets. They also host a variety of competitive tournaments.

The 18-hole disc golf course at W.S. Gibbs Memorial Park is very popular.

Anderson Skate Park Plainfield

Skateboarding

To me, skateboarding sounds like a torn groin, a blown-out knee and several broken bones -- and that's before I even get on a board. But there are a lot of talented skateboarders out there who like to ride and practice tricks on a regular basis.

Fortunately, Anderson Park in Plainfield offers a skateboard park within it that is open from April through October. It offers a variety of ramps, rails and boxes for skateboards, rollerblades and bikes, and it's free to enjoy as long as users wear a helmet.
