Enjoy Summer Fun at Gill Family Aquatic Center in Danville Indiana
Published on
On hot summer days, Gill Family Aquatic Center in Danville's Ellis Park is the spot to cool off!
With a splash pad, swimming pool, water slides, a lazy river, and a diving board, this is the perfect place for our family to create magical summer memories.
Something For All Ages
Gill Family Aquatic Center is one of the water parks in Hendricks County that offers a variety of features for all ages. It's located within Ellis Park, just off of U.S. 36 in Danville, Ind.
They offer a splash pad and a small play area with a water playground for younger children, as well as larger slides and a diving board for older children.
Splash Pad
I love that Gill Family Aquatic Center has different areas for families to explore and have fun. The splash pad is a great space for toddlers or even older kids who may need a break from swimming.
It's also the only water feature that's a little separated from the rest of the water, which makes it easier to contain little adventurers.
Play Feature & Lazy River
There's a play feature that is perfect for kids in that in-between stage — too big for a splash pad but not quite ready for the big slides. The zero-depth entry makes it easy for little ones to join in, too.
There's a small water slide and interactive features, including a water gear and bubbling fountains. Just around the corner, a small lazy river connects everything and keeps the water fun going. The whole layout makes it easy to float and explore.
Waterslides & Diving Board
Gill offers two 120-foot waterslides – one enclosed tube and one completely open. Our kids are still on the younger side and don't all meet the 48-inch height requirement, but we enjoyed watching kids and adults alike slide down and make a splash!
The pool area transitions from 3 1/2 feet to 12 feet, which allows for a diving board. As a mom with three young kids, I was impressed by the number of lifeguards on duty and their attention to detail.

- Wacky Wednesdays: Every Wednesday at 2 p.m., enjoy a fun activity that's included in your entrance fee.
