If you love vehicles made in America (or "Murica" as Cleetus calls it) and insane action that takes those vehicles to the limit and beyond, you are going to love the return of Cleetus & Cars to Lucas Oil Indianapolis Raceway Park in Brownsburg, Indiana.
YouTube sensation Cleetus McFarland, a character created and portrayed by Florida resident Garrett Mitchell, and his crew will bring the smoke and action as they take over the entire facility and expand this year's festivities to a two-day event to include drag racing, burnout contests and Crown Victoria racing on May 6-7, 2023.
Known for their epic burnouts and crazy antics, tickets are selling fast for this highly-anticipated show.
What is Cleetus & Cars?
Their YouTube channel gets millions of views every month and might be the easiest way to describe a Cleetus & Cars event.
It's part car show, part burnout contest, part drag racing along with a feature of Crown Victorias on the oval. The two-day event is tons of fun to watch as drivers take their vehicles and more importantly their tires to the limit, especially during their signature burnout competition.
The popular event returns to Hendricks County for the third straight year and sold out back in 2021. Since then, Cleetus and Cars stop in Central Indiana has expanded each year to include a race on the oval track and competitive drag racing this year.
What to Expect - Day 1
Saturday will start with a test-and-tune on the drag strip at 11 a.m. and a meet-and-greet with the stars of the Cleetus McFarland YouTube page at noon.
This year's schedule on the drag strip will include top alcohol competition for the first time at a Cleetus & Cars event. The alcohol classes will make qualifying passes at 1 and 3:30 p.m. before eliminations at 7 p.m. There will also be a Street Car Shootout at 1:45 p.m.
Cleetus and his friends will make passes on the famed dragstrip starting at 4:15 p.m. before moving to the Saturday headliner - their famous burnout contest on the new, permanent burnout pad. In one of the top burnout competitions anywhere, drivers literally shred their tires going as insane as possible in an enclosed area.
Day 2 - Indy 800
Sunday will start with another meet-and-greet at 10 a.m. followed by the conclusion of Top Alcohol eliminations at 10:30 a.m.
Back by popular demand, Cleetus and 19 other YouTube personalities will climb into Crown Victorias on Sunday afternoon for the Indy 800 presented by Heat Wave Visual. Qualifying will start at 1:30 p.m. before the green flag drops on the pay-per-view feature event at 2:30 p.m. There's no way to know for sure what to expect, but there's likely to be some rubbing and banging during this race.
Last year, famous motorsports racer Brian Deegan took the checked flag, so you may even see a racing celebrity or two on the entry list.
