I love finding unique coffee and tea shops when I travel, so I was super excited to learn there was a new one right in my hometown!

Tea Moon opened in Brownsburg in September 2024, and there is nothing else quite like it in Hendricks County.

About the Owner

Tea Moon in Brownsburg

Ivy Ly has owned a nail salon, Ivy Nails, in Brownsburg for more than 20 years. When a storefront opened up just a few doors down, she sold her tea shop in Broad Ripple, rebranded, and began serving unique beverages and desserts a bit closer to home.

Ivy's family is from China, and she was born and raised in Vietnam. Now she enjoys introducing her customers to teas that are popular in Asian cultures.

Boba Tea

One of Tea Moon's popular drink options is boba tea, also known as bubble tea. Boba tea is a Taiwanese beverage made with a tea, milk or a fruit-flavored base and includes edible pearls.

Ivy shared that in Asian cultures people like to add food to their drinks, which started with adding tapioca pearls. This taste sensation has recently caught on in the United States and customers are loving the boba tea options at Tea Moon.

Hot and Iced Drinks

Tea Moon in Brownsburg

Tea Moon offers a variety of fruit teas as well as milk teas that can be served hot or iced, and you can specify your sweetness level. On my first visit, I tried a hot chai vanilla milk tea and it was phenomenal!

The Vietnamese salt coffee has become a popular option with many of Tea Moon's repeat customers. Other beverage options include frappes and smoothies. These drinks come in so many unique flavors that you could try a different one on every visit!

Sweet Treats

Macarons at Tea Moon in Brownsburg

While sipping your beverage of choice, be sure to try one of Tea Moon's many sweet treats. Tiramisu, creme brule, Japanese cheesecake, chocolate mouse and cream puffs are a few of the desserts made onsite daily. Macarons are also made locally and come in a variety of flavors...made even sweeter with a buy 3 get 1 free deal.

Asian desserts are typically made with less sugar so they aren't overly sweet. I tried my first mochi donut (blueberry) at Tea Moon, and it was light and oh so delicious. And they are pretty darn cute too!

Savory Eats

Pate Choux at Tea Moon in Brownsburg

If you are in the mood for something savory, try the pate choux. This delightful pastry is filled with pork and onion.

Tea Moon's egg tarts are another tasty savory item that would pair well with one of their hot milk teas.

Sit a Spell or Grab-and-Go

Seating at Tea Moon in Brownsburg

The shop offers casual seating with a few tables as well as chairs along the bar, plus free Wi-Fi. This makes Tea Moon a perfect spot to study, get some work done or catch up with friends.

No time to linger? Tea Moon is ideal for those who want to grab-and-go. There is even a self-service kiosk. But with friendly staff ready to walk you through the extensive menu, I suggest opting for a little human interaction!
