Have you participated in the newest foodie craze of trying a dirty soda?
Made popular in recent years as an alternative to adult beverages, dirty sodas are soft drinks mixed with flavor syrups and creams like half and half. Exploding in popularity, these fun and uniquely flavored drinks are equally as refreshing as adventurous.
Hendricks County, Indiana, has many great options when it comes to trying fun flavored drinks!
Danville Dips
This popular ice cream and sandwich shop on Danville's Historic Hendricks County Courthouse Square recently expanded their sweet treat menu to feature a variety of dirty sodas.
These dirty sodas include fun flavors like chocolate cream root beer and caramel chaos and other refreshing options that pair nicely with their ice cream treats. They are a great grab-and-go option if you are attending an event around the square.
Zo-Bots Sodas & Fries
Zo-Bots Sodas and Fries is a local food truck that is considered to be the region's first dirty soda shop.
They boast an extensive menu of drinks, but you cannot just try a dirty soda without pairing it with one of their seasoned fries or my favorite their funnel cake fries! Make sure to follow Zo-Bots Sodas and Fries Facebook page to see what local event they will be at next.
Sodeez
Sodeez is another local food truck business in Hendricks County that is pretty prevalent around the area having a presence at many community events. Sodeez offers dirty sodas including energy drink options and specialty lemonades like Ocean Water that features blue raspberry flavor and a gummy shark.
They also allow you to customize your own drink, and you can also add on popping boba, marshmallow fluff and a candy stick. Check out Sodeez's schedule at the beginning of every week on their Facebook page.

Their selections include weekly specialty drinks, Alani Nu energy-based creations, dirty soda signatures and a build-your-own option with a variety of soda and energy drink bases, flavored syrups, creams and cold foam.
Roots Market
Now you can enjoy a dirty soda while you shop or eat at the Roots Market. Located in downtown Plainfield amongst the historic district, Roots Market is a locally sourced and curated mart filled with fresh meats, dairy, produce, baked goods and more.
Roots Market's dirty sodas are created using the Soda Guys sodas, syrups and creams.
Oasis Diner
Oasis Diner is a classic diner in Downtown Plainfield that is filled with classic retro charm and Americana classic dishes, and even though they don't necessarily have dirty sodas it is worth mentioning that they create their own handcrafted sodas.
With flavors like red cream, juicy orange, cherry vanilla and butterscotch root beer you can enjoy these perfectly crafted sodas by themselves or with vanilla hand dipped ice cream for a refreshing soda float.
Other Fun Drinks
- Mandy's Ice Cream in Brownsburg is known for their frozen treats but they also create Italian sodas using seltzer water with boba syrup (strawberry, mango, pineapple, green apple, etc.) with a layer of melted vanilla ice cream.
- Brie and Bartlett also offers hand-crafted Italian sodas along with shimmery lemonades, but this summer they plan on rolling out a line of dirty soda drinks and will launch a food truck, so make sure you follow the Brie and Bartlett Facebook page for updates.
- And for all those non-soda drinkers, check out the local Sunshine Sips Lemonade food truck. This local food truck creates specialty lemonade shakeups that features flavor mix-ins and candy garnishes. Some unique creations includes Candy Cloud topped with cotton candy and Pink Paradise with a candy bracelet.
