Every summer, race fans from across the country make their way to Central Indiana for a full-throttle weekend of motorsports.
The racing kicks off in Hendricks County, Indiana, with an ARCA Menards Series and Craftsman Truck Series doubleheader on Friday, July 24 at Lucas Oil Indianapolis Raceway Park.
Racing moves to the Indianapolis Motor Speedway on Saturday and Sunday. There’s nothing quite like a Nascar weekend in Central Indiana. Here's how you can be a part of the excitement.
The Friday night action begins with the ARCA Menards Series Liuna! 150 presented by Ideal Doors Garage Doors. This race features some of the most promising young drivers in stock car racing, including many future Nascar stars.
Before the green flag drops at 5:30 p.m., there will be a practice session from 1-1:45 p.m., with qualifying at 2 p.m. Past winners of the race include Connor Zilisch, Chandler Smith, Ty Dillion and Chase Briscoe.
Craftsman Truck Series
Immediately following the Arca race, the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series TSport 200 presented by Warn Industries gets underway at approximately 8 p.m.
Known for close racing, frequent lead changes and dramatic finishes among some of Nascar's toughest drivers, the race has become one of the most anticipated events each summer at Lucas Oil Indianapolis Raceway Park. Drivers will practice at 3:05 p.m. and qualify at 4:10 p.m., before taking the green flag under the lights.
Rich History At IRP
IRP has been part of NASCAR history for decades. Since the oval track opened in 1960, the facility has hosted countless NASCAR events while helping launch the careers of many of the sport’s biggest names, including Morgan Shepherd, Bobby Labonte, Dale Earnhardt Jr., Kevin Harvick and Kyle Busch.
NASCAR Trucks first debuted at the Brownsburg track in 1995 with Mike Skinner winning from the pole. Ron Hornaday Jr., Greg Biffle, Carl Edwards and many others have gone on to capture the checkered flag over the past 20 years.
Full Weekend Schedule
After Friday night's races at IRP, the Indianapolis Motor Speedway will host two more NASCAR races over the weekend. Saturday features the NASCAR Xfinity Series Pennzoil 250, while Sunday concludes with the Brickyard 400 presented by PPG, one of NASCAR’s most prestigious races.
Racing fans can get easy access to both world-class racing venues and four exciting races in a single weekend
