Hendricks County Rib-Fest & BBQ

One of the best events of the summer in Central Indiana occurs the last Saturday in June every year when the Hendricks County Rib-Fest & BBQ lights up the Hendricks County 4-H Fairgrounds with the illumination of festive hot air balloons and fireworks after dark.

This event also features entertainment, not-for-profit vendor booths and lots of delicious food. There will also be a beer tent for attendees ages 21 and older. 

The event kicks off with the Rib-Run 5k in the morning and ends with fireworks in the evening. Don't forget to bring your blankets and chairs so you can kick back and enjoy all the fun.

Top Reasons to Attend

Great Food

There will be delicious ribs and other barbecue meats and sides from multiple vendors. In addition, civic groups usually get in on the action providing popcorn, strawberry shortcake sundaes and other fair favorites. All the food and drinks are purchased with tickets you buy at the designated ticket tents or by credit card at each vendor. Cash will not be accepted. A list of food vendors will be added once they are announced.

Beer Tent

A beer tent will be available for those 21 years and older.

Entertainment

WYRZ radio will play tunes and take requests during the event.

Craft Fair

The Plainfield Lions Club will host a free Craft Fair from 9 a.m.-7 p.m. in the Expo Hall.

There will be plenty of not-for-profit vendor booths to visit.

Hot Air Balloons

A balloon glow (weather permitting) occurs at dusk proceeding the event's annual fireworks display. 

Run / Walk Event

The popular Rise & Swine 5K has become a favorite run and will kick off the event at the Hendricks County 4-H Fairgrounds & Conference Complex.

Food Tickets

Where do I buy tickets? Food tickets will be sold at the Avon Chamber of Commerce Office located at 8244 E. U.S. Highway 36, Suite 140 in Avon leading up to the event. For questions, please call 317-272-4333. Tickets can be purchased during the event at the Food Ticket Tent or you may use a credit card at each vendor. No cash will be accepted.     ** No Refunds. All ticket sales are final. Unused tickets may be used the following year.**

How much are tickets? $1 per ticket/1 Ticket = $1. Sheet of 5 tickets = $5.  $5 per ticket/1 Ticket = $5.  Sheet of 5 tickets = $25. 
Vendors do not accept cash, so you must be purchase food tickets or use a credit card in order to buy food from vendors.

Coolers

Can I bring a cooler? No. Coolers are prohibited.

May I bring my pet? For the safety and happiness of our furry friends, and for venue cleanliness, event organizers ask that you leave your pets at home.

Golf Carts

May I bring my golf cart?  No. Personal golf carts are prohibited.

Kid Activities

Are there kids' activities? Yes. They will have inflatables, other fun activities and a petting zoo for children. 

Is there a cost for kids' activities? No. There is no cost for those activities.

Are there volunteer opportunities? Yes. Volunteers are needed for the Hendricks County Rib-Fest & BBQ to make it a success.
