Indianapolis Rubber Stamp & Scrapbook Getaway Returns to Danville Indiana
Published on
Looking for the perfect winter creative escape? The Indianapolis Rubber Stamp and Scrapbook Getaway returns to Danville for a fun, inspiring weekend at the Hendricks County Fairgrounds & Conference Complex on Feb. 27 and 28.
This year's theme is Happy 250th Birthday America! Let's get to why this event has become so popular:
Superbowl Of Crafting
Attendees can shop to their hearts' delight as they sift through specialty papers, embossing powders, embellishments, fancy stickers, rubber stamps and more.
If you consider yourself a crafter or are looking for a new hobby, you don’t want to miss this event!
Toomuchfun Promotions
Steve Lindeman with Toomuchfun Promotions is the mastermind behind this event, along with his wife, who owns Toomuchfun Rubberstamps.
Steve promoted the first rubber stamp and scrapbook show in Fort Wayne in 2011, later adding shows in Syracuse, N.Y. and Sevierville, Tenn. Danville was eventually added to the lineup, to the delight of crafters throughout the Midwest who travel to Hendricks County every year for this big event.
Stamping & Scrapbooking Vendors
Attendees will have two full days to visit the booths of professional rubber stamp and scrapbook companies from around the country, offering many products you won't find in chain craft stores. You can buy everything from decorative papers, cutting tools, ink pads, rubber stamps for every occasion, glitters, stencils and so much more.
Many exhibitors even offer special discounts. They also display finished projects like greeting cards, scrapbook page layouts and other unique creations, giving you tons of ideas for how to use the products you buy.
Demonstrations
Whether you're a longtime scrapbooker or just curious about paper crafting, this event is designed to spark creativity and connect you with fellow makers.
But this show isn't just a spectator event! Some exhibitors offer make-and-take projects for a nominal fee, so attendees can try out products and take home a finished card or other handcrafted keepsakes.
Practice Your Craft
Advance tickets are $6 through TooMuchFun Promotions' website and $8 at the door. Parking for this event is free. You can also sign up for the Make-and-Take Party from 6-8 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 27, which costs $40 and includes admission to the show. Instructors provide you with unique projects to complete and then take home. Space is limited; so, get your tickets today!
Another option is to purchase table space at the show for one, two or all three days (Thursday-Saturday) for a full-on crafting marathon. The Create and Crop event gets you 8 feet of table space to spread out and craft away. Free show admission is included, with costs ranging from $40 for a single day to $90 for all three days.
Fun Themes & Prizes
TooMuchFun Promotions promises a fun atmosphere with upbeat music and games and prizes throughout the show.
With this year's show theme Happy 250th Birthday America, come dressed in patriotic attire and get a chance to win the Best Themed Dress Contest each day. Winners earn fun money to spend at any exhibitor booth!
Stay All Weekend
Get your fill of crafting by spending the whole weekend in Hendricks County. Fuel up at the on-site food vendor or check out one of Hendricks County's great local restaurants.
For breakfast, lunch, or a sweet treat, I recommend The Beehive, The Bread Basket or Creation Cafe in historic Danville. Then, for a memorable evening, head to the historic Hendricks County Courthouse Square and enjoy dinner at Mayberry Cafe or Frank's Place, and take in a movie at the historic Royal Theater.
