We love exploring downtown Danville, Indiana, and it just got a little more lively.

The town officially launched the Danville Social District, a designated outdoor refreshment area (DORA) designed to create a more walkable, social and vibrant downtown experience. Locals and visitors are excited about this change.

Adults 21 and over can purchase alcoholic beverages from participating businesses and enjoy them while strolling through the square in the designated areas marked with clear signage throughout Downtown Danville.

The District operates daily from 11 a.m. to 1 a.m., making it easy to enjoy everything from a casual afternoon outing to an evening with friends.

When you purchase drinks at one of these locations, make sure you ask for the designated Social District cup if you plan to walk around while enjoying your beverage

Boost For Danville Businesses

Make sure to enjoy the beautiful alleyways in Danville with plenty of seating to socialize and enjoy your drink.

Local businesses are already seeing the potential. Taryn Stewart with Mokey’s on the Square shared: “I feel it is a great addition to the square. It will allow customers to socialize and gather not just in the restaurants but in our amazing alleyways!”

With so much to see and do around the square, especially during events, this new district should provide even more reason for locals and residents to eat, drink and socialize downtown.
