Have you ever heard of geeking out?
We all do it about our favorite subject or activity but if you have a love for vintage and modern comics, action figures and toys, Geek Meet Indy at the Hendricks County 4-H Fairgrounds & Conference Complex, is the event for you.
This year promises to include special guests, contests, vendors, artistic creations and so much more. Here's what you need to know:
Geek Meet
Geek Meet Indy is a spin-off of Indiana Toy and Comic Expo (ITCE Productions). New this year, they will return to Hendricks County for a two-day event, March 1 and 2.
From 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. March 1 and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. March 2, visitors can enjoy more than 100 vendors including D’s Toys, HotSpot Collectibles, Bearded Comics and many more.
Custom Figure Contest
If you’re familiar with their Expo in Bloomington each year, you’ll also know about the Custom Figure Contest. But for those who don’t, this will be the first year the contest is brought to Hendricks County. Custom toy creators bring in their creations throughout the day on Saturday and until 11 a.m. Sunday.
Judges then choose their top picks in paint, sculpt and originality. The winner of the Crowd Favorite will also take home the coveted championship belt. Crowd Favorite votes will be accepted from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Sunday.
Special Guests
Find some of the best vendors, artists, collectors and creators of toys, games and more in the Midwest. Grindhouse Toys, an independent toy manufacturer specializing in design, art direction and prototyping will be on hand.
In addition, Andrew Heath, graphic designer, illustrator and founder of hit card game Burger Battle, Tim Baron, artist, illustrator and skateboarder and Stuart Sayger, comic book artist, will share their talents and visit with fans.
