  • Summer Sounds on the Square- Levi Riggs - Whenever a hometown favorite returns to town, it tends to be a show you don't want to miss, which is the case for this final Summer Sounds performance of the season by Danville's own Levi Riggs.
  • 18th Annual NMCA World Street Finals - This popular, three-day drag racing event featuring the Chevrolet Performance Challenge Series crowns a muscle car champion every year at Lucas Oil Raceway in Brownsburg.
  • Quaker Day Festival - Come help the Plainfield community celebrate its heritage during this long-time event that features a parade, food and craft vendors, a car show and more.

  • Alpaca Farm Open House - Explore this family-owned farm in Brownsburg and learn more about the gentle alpaca that call it home.
  • Beasley's Hometown Heroes - Support active military, police, firefighters and paramedics during this fun weekend at Beasley's Orchard in Danville.
  • Bow Wow Bash - Hendricks County's largest adoption event occurs at Williams Park in Brownsburg with games, contests, children's activities and more fun for the entire family.

Farm Fresh Weekend
  • Hogan Farms - Located in Brownsburg, this family-owned farm opens for the season featuring hayrides, a pumpkin patch, petting zone and corn maze.
  • Beasley's Orchard -While this isn't Beasley's opening weekend, this family-owned apple orchard begins to ramp up its fall activities with a Hometown Heroes weekend featuring a corn maze, children's activities and hayrides to the pumpkin patch.

October 4 - 6

  • Heartland Apple Festival - The biggest event of the season kicks off at Beasley's Orchard in Danville with tons of family fun including live entertainment, hayrides to the pumpkin patch, apple cannons, food and craft vendors and tons of children's activities.
  • International Festival - This inaugural event in Plainfield will feature food, music, dance, demonstrations and educational activities from around the world.
  • ARCA Racing Series 200/CRA Super Series 100 - This combination of lower-level stock car and late model racing has become a fan favorite on the oval at Lucas Oil Raceway.

Downtown Danville Square
  • Mayberry Cafe - No visit to Danville would be complete without a visit to this Andy Griffith Show-inspired, destination restaurant.
  • Scarecrow Display - The scarecrows finally arrive on the square for their annual visit. The creativity and fun you will find makes a trip around the courthouse well worth the effort.
  • First Friday Cruise In - If you visit on Friday evening, you will find the square full of beautiful classic cars and hot rods.
  • Bread Basket Cafe & Bakery - This family-owned eatery inside a Danville bungalow includes all the comforts of home. Open for breakfast and lunch, but closed on Sundays, you'll find that the food is irresistible but you must save room for dessert.

  • Heartland Apple Festival - If you missed it last weekend, this is the final weekend of this event at Beasley's Orchard in Danville. Hayrides to the pumpkin patch, a corn maze, apple cannons, live entertainment, children's activities, food and event vendors and so much more.
  • Fall Harvest Days at Nehemiah Ranch - Free family event in Avon held three weekends out of the year, including this one. Hayrides, pumpkin patch, live music, food and more.
  • Volktoberfest 2019 - If you love Volkswagen vehicles than this 18th annual event at the Hendricks County 4-H Fairgrounds & Conference Complex in Danville is for you. It includes live entertainment, kids' activities and more.

  • uPaint Pottery Studio - As you get ready for Halloween, uPaint in Plainfield has a variety of seasonal pottery that your family can paint, make memories and use to decorate your home.
  • McCloud Prairie Maze - If you haven't visited this unique fall maze yet at McCloud Nature Park in North Salem, you're running out of time. It's free, fun and different than traditional corn mazes.
  • Scarecrow Display - Another fun tradition that makes a trip to the Hendricks County Courthouse Square in Danville so much fun. While there grab a bite to eat or take in a movie at the historic Royal Theater.
  • Hotels With Indoor Pools - When the kids still have energy to burn, having an indoor pool at your hotel will give you the perfect opportunity to relax poolside watching them swim and play.

  • Fall Colors Festival - A celebration of fall in one of Hendricks County's most beautiful places to see fall foliage, McCloud Nature Park in North Salem, Includes numerous family activities.
  • Hoppy Halloween - Annual craft beer and wine festival at IndyWest Harley-Davidson in Plainfield featuring costume contest, games and much more.
  • Fall Harvest Days at Nehemiah Ranch - Final weekend of this free, family-friendly event in Avon that includes hayrides, a pumpkin patch and more.
  • Rusty Wallace Driving Experience - Drive a stock car or participate in a ride-a-long at Lucas Oil Raceway in Brownsburg.

Fall Color
  • The Tie Dye Lab - One of our favorite and most unique DIY studios can be found in Avon where you can bring your family and tie dye just about anything.
  • Fall Foliage at McCloud Nature Park - This North Salem park provides arguably the best fall foliage in our county and this is the best weekend to see it.
  • Bisque Barn - Another one of our DIY studios, you can paint pottery or make a sign. Best part: they provide the expertise and clean up the mess.

October 26 - 27, 2019

Top Events

  • Doctoberfest - Enjoy this Doctor Who-themed Halloween event at Who North America, the only museum and retail store in North America devoted to the hit British television show.
  • Halloweekend at Beasley's - Celebrate Halloween at Beasley's Orchard in Danville. Wear your costumes, experience all the fall activities and attractions and enjoy the last weekend of the corn maze.

Labor Day Weekend (8/30-9/2)

Top Events

  • Chevrolet Performance U.S. Nationals - Coined the "Big Go," this massive Labor Day Weekend event at Lucas Oil Raceway in Brownsburg remains the most prestigious drag race on the NHRA circuit, and a ticket doubles as a pit pass giving visitors unprecedented access.
  • North Salem Old Fashion Days - This three-day, small-town festival provides fun and excitement for every member of the family. A large parade, children's activities, live music, a bed race down main street and more entertainment draw visitors back annually.

End of Summer
  • Splash Island Water Park (final weekend) - Good thing Labor Day Weekend is a long weekend because it also marks the last three days of the season for this outdoor, summer favorite. This Carribbean-themed water play land with water slides, a leisure river, children's spray area and diving boards provides so much enjoyment. Bring a cooler and spend the day before it's too late, and summer is officially over.

  • Dogs at Splash Island - The annual puppy pool party at Splash Island in Plainfield is perfect for those with dogs that love the water.
  • Danville Tri Kappa Presents Fair On the Square - This massive two-day event in Danville includes more than 100 vendor booths selling home decor items, handmade creations and even produce.
  • Blues and BBQ - Just as the name would suggest, this one-day event in Brownsburg combines the sweet sounds of blues music with the sweet tastes of barbecue from multiple vendors.
  • USAC Hall of Fame Classic - This long-time event at Lucas Oil Raceway in Brownsburg is an oval racing fan's dream featuring up-and-coming drivers in the USAC series while celebrating the sports' past.

  • Hendricks County Boutique Crawl - This three-day event provides a great way to explore the Hendricks County boutique scene with specials and discounts, perfect for a girlfriend getaway.
  • CRA Fall Brawl - A fun oval event at Lucas Oil Raceway that moved to September for the first time.

An Apple a Day
  • Beasley's Orchard - October remains without a doubt the busiest month for Beasley's Orchard, so if you want to avoid the crowds visit this weekend before the rush begins. You can still enjoy all the wonderful aspects of this fall family attraction including u-pick apples, their Barnyard Bonanza Family Activity Area and more.
